About Programme
|
Mersin University, Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department was founded within the body of Engineering Faculty by the Law No. 3837 that was approved on February, 1992. The department started its education programme with the Master of Science (MSc) degree programme (2 years) in the spring semester of 1994-1995 academic year. The department started to grant a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in 2000-2001 academic year and a a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree programme in 2008.
The academic staff of the department consists of 12 faculty members (3 Professor, 4 Associate Professor and 5 Assistant Professor), and 5 research assistants. The language of the education in 30 % of the total number of courses has been deployed as English since 2009.

History
|
Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Engineering was established in 1995 as a part of. Learning of high-degree program started 1996-1997. 2000-2001 school year, campus of the university's Faculty of Engineering Ciftlikkoy department allocated a block of classrooms in a class of 42 students started the undergraduate program.

Qualification Awarded
|
Graduates have their Bachelor's Degree in Electics and Elektronics Engineering successfully completing the program.

Admission Requirements
|
After completing high school or equivalent, students must have adequate points on “Student Selection and Placement Exam of Turkey”
|
Higher Grade Transition
|
Upon the successful completion of undergraduate program, the candidates with the adequate scores from Academic Staff and Graduate Study Education Exam (ALES) and University Language Examination conducted by OSYM (ÜDS) can study in the graduate (masters and doctoral) programs.

Graduation Requirements
|
Students having obtained a grade point average of at least 60 out of 100 and successfully passed all courses on the programme (equivalent to a total of 240 ECTS) are awarded by Bachelor's Degree.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
|
Graduates will be able to work in various contexts related to electrical and electronics engineering, and will be able to operate in the public and private sectors, in companies, research centres, schools and universities, active in the telecommunication, power and energy, control systems, electrical, electronics, automotive, etc. fields. The programme also qualifies the graduates for an academic career in master and doctoral studies in engineering.
