About Programme

The Department of Chemical Engineering can successfully use the education it has received in theoretical and applied fields, can carry out highly original and qualified scientific studies and research, can model and manage systems suitable for the needs of the industry, use its knowledge and experience for the benefit of all humanity, be beneficial to the society, in the light of universal values, modern, creative and positive. It carries out a training plan to train highly qualified and responsible Chemical Engineers who think, participate, adhere to ethical values, are productive and represent their country all over the world with the values they create. The program includes compulsory courses related to basic chemical engineering. In addition to the compulsory courses in the education plan, there are elective courses that students have the chance to choose according to their own preferences. Thus, in addition to mathematics and science, graduates who can follow the information in their field, use information and communication technologies, solve engineering problems in terms of economy, occupational safety, quality, environment and ethical values, understand the importance of lifelong learning and are prone to teamwork. is raising.

History
The Chemical Engineering Department, located in Mersin University Çiftlikköy Campus Engineering Faculty Block F, was established as a student-free department with the decision no. At the meeting of the General Assembly of Higher Education dated 20/03/2008, it was found appropriate to admit undergraduate students to the Department of Chemical Engineering as of the 2008-2009 academic year, in accordance with Article 7/h of the Law No. 2547 amended by the Law No. 2880.
Qualification Awarded
Graduates who successfully complete the program are awarded a bachelor's degree in CHEMICAL ENGINEERING.
Admission Requirements
Candidates to have a high school diploma or equivalent and to have enough points in the relevant field of the central exam applied by ÖSYM.
Higher Grade Transition
Candidates who have completed undergraduate education; They can study in graduate programs, provided that they get a valid grade from the ALES exam, have sufficient English language knowledge, and pass the science exam.
Graduation Requirements
To achieve a weighted grade point average of at least 60 out of 100 in order to successfully complete all the courses available in the program (total of 240 ECTS).
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates of chemical engineering program are researchers, designers, projects in all processes dealing with the development and application of processes in which the chemical structures, energy contents or physical states of materials such as minerals, metals, ceramics, polymers, paper and composites production, medicine, food, environment and biotechnology are changed.
