TOURISM AND TRAVEL SERVICES 



Mersin University, Anamur Vocational Graduate School was established with Business Administration and Tourism and Hotel Management Programs in 1995-1996 Academic year. In 1997-1998 Academic year Travel Management Program was established in the Economy and Administrative Programs Department. The name of the program was changed as Tourism and Travel Services within Tourism, Travel and Entertainment Services Department in 2009-2010 Academic Year. The program has had one year preparation English language class since it was founded. Education duration is 3 years including preparation English language class. Tourism and Travel Services Program carries out an education program which provides graduates abilities to work in the operation, reservation, ticketing departments of travel agents as in precedures, be responsible, integrate and be qualified. Our students who enter the Turkish Airlines Education Department’s ticketing exam executed upon the protocol signed between The Mersin University Rector and Turkish Airlines have the Basic Sales and Galileo Central System certificates. Furthermore our students can have the certificate of Sejour Agency Automation certificate given by San Computer Ltd. upon the protocol signed between the university and the company, after they pass the Reservation Systems in Travel Agencies class. Additional to the vocational and compulsory classes, there are optional classes in the second year of the education. The graduates who have the proficiency in the tourism and travel management field can be employed in 1. A Group Travel Agencies 2. B Group Travel Agencies 3. C Group Travel Agencies 4. The tourism establishments such as Fair and Organization Companies.

Qualification Awarded
The graduates get the degree of Tourism and Travel Services with the authority provided by law.
Admission Requirements
Candidates must have a high school diploma or an equivalent school diploma and get enough points in the relevant field of the central examination administered by ÖSYM
Higher Grade Transition
Candidates, who successfully complete their associate degree education, can continue their education in the relevant undergraduate program if they are successful in the Vertical Transfer Exam.
Graduation Requirements
It is required to successfully complete all of the courses in the program (equivalent to a total of 120 ECTS), to achieve a general academic achievement grade of at least 60 out of 100 and to complete 40 working days of internship executed in A,B or C Group Travel Agencies.
